Tips on How to Get the Most Out of Your Work
Personal and professional development is an investment - an investment in YOU! And, you are totally worth it. I am here to help you achieve your goals and live a full life. With that said here are a few tips that can help you get the most out of your investment.
My intention is to help you live independently and create a life of your choosing. In the beginning of our work together, you may feel dependent on our relationship for a number of reasons; however, this will pass and soon you will begin to feel strong and ready to go out into the world as you are. Below is an overview of how I best work with clients and the commitments you may need to make in order to get the most out of your work with me:
- Have the financial resources to begin and complete your work. While purchasing packages are always cheaper than paying session by session, you can "pay as you go". Your advance payment secures your appointment and cancellations are not refunded. While I do my best to reschedule clients, there are times when I am unable to accommodate late changes. Please take care to schedule times that you are most likely to keep. I do not take insurance but some services may be reimbursed by your insurance company. Simply call your insurance company to see what services are covered; they are always happy to explain your coverage. I am happy to provide you with the appropriate receipts that can be used for reimbursement. If you need help financially, you can apply for a medical loan by clicking here.
- Commit to at least one session per week for the first three months, if you are a new client. This is absolutely crucial in establishing a strong foundation. Depending on your case and circumstance, I may recommend twice a week sessions. All recommendations will be discussed at the end of your first session. After sufficient progress is made, your sessions can be, and are often, reduced. If you cancel sessions or miss a significant number of sessions, you may not get the most out of your work. In fact, it may reverse some of the progress you have made. If it appears that my work with you is unhelpful or the inconsistencies prove to be a problem in being able to help you, I will let you know so we can discuss it. At that time, I may offer you referrals to other providers who may be able to better meet your needs.
- Take the TAIS (The Attentional and Interpersonal Skills Inventory) for all coaching services and some clinical treatment. This will help me gain a deeper understanding of your personality and how you process events and experiences at the beginning of your work. The benefit is identifying the areas where we may want to start your work so you can begin seeing results. My clients love the TAIS and feel that it saves them a significant amount of office time.
